ey tea pea

Just got back from ATP. Had the sickest time and am soooo utterly gutted to be back.
We took about a million photos and have so much to put in here that to make life easier and not bombard you with a million words and images I'm gona have to break it down into separate blogs.

The first one should obviously be a music one.

We all booked our tickets not really knowing many of the bands that were playing but I saw some of the best live acts that I have ever seen before.
As Maz put it 'Once in a lifetime bands'

The amount of times we said 'shit man, that was incredible' or 'that was the best thing i've seen so far' or 'I just almost cried' was ridiculous it just got better and better. The best day was the last day by far though with Juana Molina, Joanna Newsom, the Tiger Lillies and Coco Rosie.

The Residents scared the living shit out of me. I was actually genuinely scared, I wish I'd managed to have taken a photo of them.

The boredoms were rad but they were the first band we watched on a day where we were struggling from serious alcohol and sleep deprived self induced woes so after an hour of listening to seven sets of drum kits going mental I think we were all about to pass out or throw up.
There was an absolutely awesome part of their set though where some dudes carry one of the drummers through the crowd on their shoulders.
(this is it)

There was a lot of traditional african music played this weekend and we managed to catch all of it.
We danced good. These were the best out of all of them though (can't remember what they were called but
they blew us away) The 2 vocalists were blind, Such a huge shame they couldn't see the amount of people
in the crowd with giant smiles on all our faces.

The XX played 2 nights in a row but we only watched the one show on the Saturday. Most insane bass

Matt Groening came out to introduce the Tiger Lillies

They were like the pleasant version of the Residents, absolutely awesome and a mental drummer.

None of us had heard of Juana Molina before but we were just stood there in awe

We (sort of) had our sunday lunch with Daniel Johnston

Spiritualized played on the Sunday night but to be honest we spent most of the set either smoking or looking
after random drunk girls spewggling up steak and kidney filling

Photobucket

Joanna Newsom was incredible too, Could shut your eyes and pretend you were watching Kate Bush.
We enjoyed it even though we were stood behind the 'get a room' couple and the boy who decides not
to wash the whole festival

My absolute favourite though was Coco Rosie, I've never been so gutted when a show has ended before.

the end x
