Well that all changed when I watched Hatchi.
It is the most heartbreaking film I have ever seen.
It is a true story about a dogs loyalty to its owner.
A Japanese dog 'Hachiko' makes his own way to greet
his owner on his commute back home to the train station
everyday.
Hachiko continues this journey for 9 years after his
owner dies. He makes the journey until the day he dies.
The town locals fed him and bought him treats.
When he passed away they erected a statue in the
same position he would await his owners return
everyday at Shibuya Station.
Each year on April 8, Hachikō's devotion is honored
with a solemn ceremony of remembrance at Tokyo's
Shibuya railroad station. Hundreds of dog lovers
often turn out to honor his memory and loyalty
